The Speed Play devices require only seconds to measure and record the golfer and distance, thereby speeding up play during tournaments. There is no estimating, disappearing tapes, or two-person requirements during the flow of the tournament. As the field of golfers, successfully complete the nearest to pin hole, the Speed Play card becomes the document of record. With successive closest distances being recorded, the winner, and runner-ups, are readily determined. Given their affordability, individual Speed Plays are often used for each classification of participant, as well as at each nearest to the pin hole.
